Remembering 9/11 and the World Trade Center
Monday, September 11th, 2006
I know this is off topic for us, but it is 9/11. The one date that will always stand out in my mind. It was the Pearl Harbor of our generation. I went to see World Trade Center over the weekend to remind me why we are still in Iraq.
I walked away from the theater just as angry as I was the day it happened. Disgusted that another tape has surfaced only days better the anniversary of 9/11. Bin Laden continues to taunt us. Here it is five years later and we still don’t have Bin Laden in custody or dead.
I am proud of the troops and the job they have done. I will support them and the war simply because I feel it is the right thing to do. In my opinion it is silly to state we support the troops but don’t support the war. That is just like telling we love you, but not your actions. Our troops need our support and encouragement to continue fighting and to return safely. They need to know we are behind them 100% percent.
So take the time today to remember why we are fighting and if you see a service man or woman, police, fire, rescue or anyone else who puts their lives on the line for our freedom take to time to thank them for what they do.
